Generate a YouTube embed that starts at a chosen moment

Create privacy-enhanced iframe markup, set a start time in seconds, and check playback expectations.

An embedded player can put a demonstration next to the instructions that explain it. The YouTube Embed Code Generator creates iframe markup from a supported video link. It uses a youtube-nocookie.com player address and lets you request a starting point and autoplay.

Choose the video and start time

Paste a full video URL or eleven-character identifier into YouTube video URL or ID. Enter Start at (seconds) as a number between 0 and 86,400. Leave Request autoplay unchecked for the simplest manual-play example, then choose Generate result.

For the example ID dQw4w9WgXc and a start value of 90, the generated player address is https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXc?start=90. Ninety seconds corresponds to one minute and thirty seconds. A fractional entry such as 90.8 is rounded down to 90 by this implementation. This example demonstrates address construction; playback availability still depends on the video and provider.

Checking autoplay adds autoplay=1 to the address. The checkbox requests behavior; it cannot override a browser’s playback restrictions or the viewer’s settings. Test the resulting page with the same interaction pattern you expect visitors to use.

Place the complete iframe in your page

Copy the complete result into the appropriate HTML location in your site’s source or use the downloaded youtube-embed.html file as a reference. The generated iframe has width 560, height 315, lazy loading, a generic player title, a referrer policy, fullscreen support, and playback-related permissions. It does not include a responsive page wrapper.

Review how those fixed dimensions fit your layout. On a narrow page you may need your site’s existing responsive video styles. Replace the generic iframe title with an accurate accessible description when that fits your site’s editorial conventions. The generator does not inspect the surrounding page or confirm that your editor preserves iframe markup.

Keep the privacy claim precise

The generator processes the entered values in your browser and does not load a player preview. Once you place the code on a page, the embedded player contacts YouTube when loaded. Privacy-enhanced mode reduces some pre-playback storage; it does not make viewing anonymous.

No account access, private-video retrieval, or video download is provided. Test the actual embedded page before publishing and confirm that the chosen starting point makes sense without earlier context. Use the Video ID Extractor to inspect an unfamiliar link, or prepare a broader navigation list with the Timestamp Generator.
