A useful PDF is more than a file that opens. Its pages should be in the right order, readable at normal zoom, and free of content you did not intend to share. Take a few minutes to inspect the final output before sending it.
Keep a separate original
Start with a copy. Rewriting a PDF can change its internal structure, and it can invalidate an existing digital signature. If a document has a signature that must remain verifiable, obtain the appropriate source version or use a signature-aware workflow.
ERITHRA’s PDF tools process the document in your browser. They are intended for routine page operations on ordinary PDFs, not for preserving signatures, editing encrypted documents, or certifying archival compliance.
Combine files in a deliberate order
In the PDF merger, add files in the order you want them to appear. The workspace lists the selected filenames before processing. After downloading, open the merged document and check the transitions between files.
Use the page reorder tool when you need to change the order within a document. Enter each page number once. The tool rejects missing pages, duplicate numbers, and page numbers outside the document’s range so an accidental omission does not silently pass.
Extract only the pages you need
The PDF splitter accepts a page list such as 1-3, 7. The numbers refer to positions in the file, which can differ from printed page labels. A cover page may make printed page 1 the second page in the actual document.
Removing a page is not the same as redacting sensitive text from a page you keep. These tools do not perform secure redaction. If confidentiality depends on removing underlying text, annotations, attachments, or metadata, use a dedicated redaction tool and verify the result.
Understand compression limits
PDF size can come from photographs, scanned page images, fonts, attachments, and duplicated resources. There is no single lossless switch that reliably shrinks every document.
ERITHRA’s PDF compressor rebuilds the file using object streams. It does not downsample embedded photographs or rasterize text. Some PDFs get smaller, while others remain similar in size or become larger. The workspace reports the actual comparison so you can keep the better file.
For a scanned document that remains too large, return to the scan settings if possible. Choose an appropriate resolution and color mode for the content. Do not reduce quality until small text becomes hard to read.
Inspect the download
- Check the first and last page.
- Review orientation and page order.
- Confirm that text remains legible.
- Test links or bookmarks that matter to the recipient.
- Verify signatures separately when applicable.
