Make a JPEG copy of a WebP image for another workflow

Export WebP as JPEG, choose quality, and check transparency, animation, and compatibility before replacing the source.

An image can display correctly in a browser while another application refuses its format. A JPEG copy is a practical bridge when the receiving workflow accepts JPEG but does not accept your WebP file. Keep the WebP source so the compatibility copy does not become your only version.

Make the conversion deliberately

Choose WebP files and review the upload previews. Set JPEG quality between 1 and 100, beginning around 80 if you have no delivery specification. Run the conversion and compare the result with the original. Increasing quality may retain more visible detail, but it does not guarantee a smaller output or restore detail absent from the source.

This tool changes format without changing the image’s width or height. It also fills transparent regions with white. A transparent sticker, icon, or product cutout therefore becomes a rectangular image with a white background. If the recipient needs transparency, discuss a different format instead of repeatedly adjusting JPEG quality.

For an animated WebP, the output is a still frame. Preview the export to determine whether that frame is useful. This is not an animation conversion tool, and it cannot place every frame into a single JPEG.

Try a known-size example

A 1200 by 800 WebP product photograph contains 960,000 pixels. Converting it at quality 90 produces a 1200 by 800 JPEG. If the original includes a transparent border, that border remains the same width but turns white. There is no automatic trimming of that space.

Download the JPEG and open it in the target application. This verifies the specific compatibility problem you were solving. Then inspect detailed areas such as patterned fabric or lettering. The useful comparison is the actual source against the actual output, not the quality number alone.

If a website links to the old .webp filename, update the reference when using the new .jpg file. The conversion does not change files already embedded in a page or document.

Review the whole selection

Up to 20 images can be converted together with one quality setting. Each input is limited to 20 MB and 40 megapixels, and the combined input/output limit is 100 MB. Results offer individual downloads and a ZIP, with before/after thumbnails for review.

All processing remains in the browser. Canvas export may remove metadata and color profiles. If decoding fails, check that the file is valid and supported rather than merely renamed. Use Bulk Image Converter for a mixed-format selection, or JPG to WebP when preparing a separate WebP delivery copy later.
