Compare PDFs: a practical guide

View rendered pages and highlight visual differences.

ERITHRA editorial2 min read

Use Compare PDFs when you need to view rendered pages and highlight visual differences. This guide follows a concrete workflow: spot visible edits between two report versions. Keep your source file so you can compare the result and repeat the conversion with different settings.

Work through the example

  1. Upload the earlier PDF and a second PDF, up to ten page pairs.
  2. Compare pages to render before, after and highlighted differences.
  3. Review each highlighted area and download the difference images.

Understand the output

Compares up to 10 page pairs at preview resolution. It does not prove document identity, detect hidden data or provide a legal redline.

Use the preview or open the downloaded output in the application where it will be used. A successful export means that a file was created; your final review confirms that it meets the requirements of your actual task.

Save and share carefully

The tool link is shareable; your uploaded document is not included in that link. Download the finished file before closing the tab. Reset clears the workspace. You can save the tool to Favorites to return to the same workflow later.
