Calendar age is not the same calculation as dividing a number of days by 365. Months have different lengths, and an anniversary can fall beyond the last day of a shorter month. The Age Calculator reports completed years, remaining months, remaining days, and the total number of calendar days between two selected dates.
Set both dates explicitly
Enter the starting date in Date of birth and the comparison date in Age on this date, then choose Calculate. The second field initially uses your device’s current local date, so change it when calculating age on a historical or future date. The end date cannot be before the start date.
Although the first label refers to a birth date, the arithmetic can also describe a calendar interval such as the age of a project. Keep the meaning clear when sharing the result. Dates are treated as date-only values at UTC midnight for calculation; the tool does not ask for a birth time or a time zone.
Follow the month-end example
Set the first date to 2024-01-31 and the second to 2024-03-01. The result is 0 years, 1 month, 1 day, with 30 total days. The calculator first tests completed month anniversaries. January 31 plus one month is clamped to February 29 in this leap year. March 1 is one day after that anchor.
It does not repeatedly add a fixed number of days to create a “month.” The year and month components come from completed calendar months, and the remaining days are measured from the corresponding clamped anniversary. Thus the total-days value should not be reconstructed by assuming every reported month has thirty days.
Use the right interval for the task
The implementation validates actual calendar dates and rejects an invalid date or a reversed range. It does not decide legal age, benefits eligibility, contractual deadlines, or jurisdiction-specific anniversary rules. A date convention suitable for a general calendar calculation may differ from the convention required by a particular organization.
For this tool, identical dates produce zero elapsed days; the result is an elapsed interval rather than an inclusive count of both endpoint dates. If your task is simply counting elapsed days and weeks, use the Date Difference Calculator. If it concerns hours crossing midnight rather than whole calendar dates, use the Time Duration Calculator.
Both dates are processed in your browser, with no account lookup or identity check. A birth date can be sensitive information, so copy only the result details you intend to share and verify the selected comparison date before using the output elsewhere.
